How to Use + Best For

Thoroughly saturate the hair with water, then work a generous amount of As I Am Coconut CoWash between your palms and distribute throughout the hair and scalp. Massage the scalp thoroughly with your fingertips as you would with shampoo, then gently detangle from the ends upward with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb before rinsing completely. It is especially well suited to curly and coily hair, including Types 2C–4, and is a great option for dry, coarse or moisture-seeking textures that need gentle cleansing between regular shampoo days. Based on its richer combination of coconut oil, castor oil and conditioning agents, it can be particularly helpful for medium-to-high porosity hair, while fine or low-porosity hair may prefer less frequent use and periodic shampooing to prevent buildup. As I Am recommends alternating Coconut CoWash with Curl Clarity Shampoo when deeper cleansing is needed and following with a conditioner or leave-in for additional moisture and manageability.
